Execution of a martyr.
Alex is now one of the countless martyrs of empire through the centuries, including Jesus.

I recommend Brianβs reflections. He articulates my feelings/experiences of well-meaning preachers who lose the mystery of the Gospel story, attempting to somehow solve it, losing the beauty of it in the process.
