In the moment, I powered through, but as the evening went on and I got home, I realized more and more how upset I was. So I guess my point is, when someone gets punched, they don't always feel the pain right away. The adrenaline keeps them moving forward.

I was still trying to figure out whether that whole thing had been as inappropriate as it felt when we reached the signing, and EVERY SINGLE PERSON who had attended came up to apologize for him.
I reacted immediately, loudly, and with vague horror. He was less apologetic than he had been when he got the number of books I've written wrong.
Three questions later, he decided to start asking me detailed questions about being bullied in school.
Now to last night's event. When I got there, the man who was going to moderate me told me proudly that he had a written introduction (he did not volunteer to let me see it). He asked if anything was off-limits. I, the innocent, said no. I thought topics would remain book-related.

This is why I loved studying (and applying) law while serving. So straightforward, clear and in the right places 🤔😀. You never, ever took anything for granted. You get to your goal and say " how the heck did I get to this result!".

I'd bow to your greater knowledge in this area. I was more familiar with the legal grounds around Defence Forces acting in place of civil authorities (though I'm out of date on its current state). Thought similar applied to Naval Service. Or it could be both. Your point is more up to date. Thanks 😊

Possibly as a result of the very specific aid to the civil powers regulations. The whole point being they are in aid to Civil Powers and unless jurisdiction is handed over by civil powers, they legally can't operate. It has good points, but in a maritime situation, questionable.
