Does endemic not imply a steady state?
What about the giant waves of covid that we get, and the endless mutation of it, thanks to having billions of hosts, makes it endemic?
Did the largest health organization in the world declare it endemic?
Then tell me why you think *you* can declare it endemic
Try to understand how minimizing makes things worse for everyone.
How are you getting those numbers when there is barely any testing for covid, even in hospitals?
Do you know the percentage of asymptomatic infections?
If you knew some of these things you would clearly not be calling it endemic.
Did the WHO or any other public health agency, such as they are, declare SARS-Cov2 endemic? If I missed it, please let me know.
Why anyone believes this or listens to this? I have no idea.

We get at least 2 major waves of covid every year that infect millions - wastewater testing shows this clearly.
There's other metrics, but you don't really care.
Covid vaccines are not good at reducing transmission.

We are likely to hear lots of murmurous about how this child died not of measles, but as pneumonia or lung disease.
(This is the same thing we heard during Covid, when people claimed that deaths were “with Covid“, not “from Covid“)
To be clear: MEASLES CAUSES PNEUMONIA, sepsis, & lung disease.
I think the most impactful advice Irv Weissman ever gave me was that I have to be able to explain my science in basic English. That it's not about "dumbing it down" it's about understanding so clearly in your own mind that you can explain it clearly and simply in a common language, free of jargon.

Ive become colleagues and friends with many amazing scientists and doctors since the pandemic started. They have to spend way more time trying to hold their colleagues to account who have published inaccurate research and said things that aren’t true than arguing with antivaxxers.
The big scandal that, on its face, is often completely dismissed by “science believers” is there was a decision to treat the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 as something addressed with gappy masks, curtains and acrylic sneeze guards. Because addressing how it transmits, through the air, was impractical
