Eruptive episode 43 has begun about an hour ago at Kilauea in Hawaii. According to a friend who is there, fountains now appear to be at 150-200 meters, as of writing.

Tephra raining down is visible and audible on many of the live stream cams currently.

Cooper was moved precisely because Home Sec is such a poisoned chalice. Mahmood is just latest in a long line of seriously toxic Home Secs, all grappling with the same and worsening problems exacerbated by global events. Cooper was right to plead for those visas, but special cases are always rare.

All of the countries that allowed US military bases on their land did so because America said that in return they would keep those countries safe.
Many countries in the Middle East now realise that the US bases make them a target and the US really doesn’t care.

One MP, early in Labour's term doth not signal imminent failure of Labour gov. I see the usual slew of "journos" pumping out similar, ignoring all that's been done, about to be done and still complaining, and making a Ch4 prog to pick Starmer's life apart in the hope it'll destroy UK's only chance.

Reform UK really are so lucky.

For a party of eight MPs they have the UK’s biggest news broadcaster on retainer.

Here we see their political editor doing the job of a local newspaper reporter.

For Farage.

EIGHT MPs.

It’s an absolute damning indictment on the state of our media discourse that so many think KS is so bad.

Crazy.

Tbf Channel 4 are normally β€˜better’ … hopefully they won’t just settle for lazy β€˜let’s give Keir a kicking’ soundbites

Yet another one shilling for someone pulling his strings, fearful of losing his job unless he obeys his masters. UK is where it is today largely because of our deeply toxic foreign-owned press.

Starmer was called to the Bar before this mainstream media journalist was even born.

You'd think with all the westerns and war films they've made they'd have spotted the dangers of such a geographical feature and factored it in wouldn't you??

It'll be 7hrs by train from where I live, change at Plymouth. I've treated myself to First Class, cos I'm worth it. I shall do some sketches en vitesse whilst travelling, hopefully my seat will be on the "right side"!

In 2013 whilst off sick having prolonged treatment for cancer I made a list of all the places in the UK I wanted to visit...there were a LOT and I calculated I'd have to go away at least 5 times a year until I was about 75. I've only done a few and a faint feeling of desperation is creeping in now.

God I'm not taking THAT big a sketch book! Fab waves there...this is my only big beach one I did...watercolour, copied from a great photo, artist unknown.

And aren't their ships all north of the Straits of Hormuz too? OOOOPS, AMBUSH TIME!

I've only ever visited once, a year after the Eden Project opened, with a former boyfriend. We went to the Eden Project and a china clay mine that had walkways open to the public, can't remember the name. Sadly only there for 4 days.

I spotted this in a little coastal village I visited on the north Norfolk coast!

At the very least the bars and restaurants there should be charging full price, not allowing it on expenses and cut lots of other unecessary perks of the job. A mental health capacity test should be mandatory yrly, sniffer dogs should be at all entrances and enforced retirement at 80, max.

I've been looking at bus timetables, making lists, doing a plan for the 2wks (indoor/outdoor)...as I always do. I won't be able to see/visit everything I want and could go again I suppose, but there's so many places still to visit, and time's getting shorter quickly.

According to blog posts today there's been no bonding sessions between the male and new female Peregrines. The female is spending hours perched on front bar of old nesting site dozing, occasionally looking up towards the new nest site but no visits recorded. Derby Cathedral Peregrines seem hesitant.

The thing is, this person knows I'm interested in rocks, china clay history, the old tin mines, and in painting the landscapes and the sea. I want to go to the farthest end of our country and get a badge, I want to either walk the causeway or get a boat to St Michael's Mount. It's my only chance.

Hereditary Peers Bill passes in House of Lords, paving the way for further reform The Hereditary Peers Bill has passed in the House of Lords in one of the biggest reforms to Parliament and UK democracy in a generation.

Hereditary peers out of the Lords at long long last - delivering the rather simple principle that you don’t deserve a vote in Parliament by virtue of which family your were born into www.gov.uk/government/n...

They didn't go to those places for the same reasons as I'm going, but didn't listen to my reasons for wanting to visit them. They're not interested in my reasons, only in telling me I'm going to be disappointed and that their suggestions are the best. SHUT UP AND FUCK OFF I wanted to say.

It's deeply annoying to meet someone who, when you tell them in conversation that you've booked hols and intend to visit x, y and z, they tell you they've been, it was rubbish, there's nothing interesting there, it's vastly overrated, a rip-off and suchlike. Then suggest places I'd never visit.

I squirted flash with bleach mix on it...it comes out as a froth so stuck there for a bit and then gave it another poke with my finest needle...it's kind of working, but not brilliant. Enough to pass MOT though.

Just gave my lovely neighbour her box of birthday cheeses and she's texted me to say she's had a couple of chunks already and they're divine! I might even order this particular collection for myself, despite having quite a lot of blue left in the freezer. Yes, I freeze most cheeses, it's fine!
