It’s the same fandom elements that do this in the Star Wars universe. Mad about “the woke”
Which is extra funny given ST has always been forward looking.
I had rock bottom expectations, so I’m mostly enjoying it.

Starfleet Academy season finale is on Thursday.
Aha! The actor who plays the former wife is the same one who played the Army CID colonel in NCIS. Susanna Thompson. She’s fab.
On the Dax and her former wife episode and wow the chemistry is 🔥
You can make it in film without studying at a film school or getting a theater degree. (Although both are valuable and worthy subjects)
Opera requires classical training and techniques. Ballet is a lifetime of lessons and work. There’s no nepotism shortcut.
The thing about the opera and ballet kerfuffle is that they ARE seen as a bit of an elitist art form. But part of that is that training for them is expensive and rigorous. Timmy should know better than to put other arts down.
I personally don’t enjoy either one, but I respect the hell out of them
I very vaguely remembered Worf in it and Odo etc, but this makes so much more sense than random episodes.
Garak is my favorite.
Oh I don’t have either near me, as you know. 😂 But when I get to civilization, it’s Dutch Bros. Coconut Mocha. 😋
Dutch is 3 points per $ and a free drink at 250 points. So less than half of that.
Plus better coffee.
Yeah it’s a trade off. More people willing to do TV with 8-10 episodes vs 22-24. Those were hard on the cast. But it also gave them a lot of time to fill.
Yeah today’s shows are definitely not given the same grace.
One of my absolute pet peeves. Especially when the bass starts thumping through the walls
I’m getting more of the Lower Decks jokes, for sure.
I lived in the boonies with no cable and no broadcast TV. Eventually got satellite, but that was well after the series began.
The first season was rough, NGL. But after about midS2, it gets really good.
Yay! I’m not alone 😂
I’m good at freezing stuff, bad at remembering to defrost.
Do you defrost or cook from frozen ?
I have been slowly watching DS9. I’ve never watched the entire series. Just episodes here and there.
I’ve finally made it to Worf.
Most of it originally aired when I didn’t have access to live TV.
He’s finishing up an AS in Environmental Studies and will move into a Bachelors program next year. Grateful that the CA community college system has started offering some limited 4 year degrees.
I think it’s 3 separate pieces for sax and bassoon duets, but I am not a musically literate person (ironically). His description went waaay over my head.
Youngest got a new certification for learning wildland firefighting as part of his future career in ecological restoration and fire management.
Oldest is on his way to a saxophone conference in Ohio where he will be premiering a new composition along with his friends from UOP.
This is delightful which of course it is because it’s Tim Curry dammit but it contains two earth shattering revelations for the Curryverse and they are
1) he was considered for Ian Malcolm in Jurassic Park
2) he read the screenplay for Silence of the Lambs and wanted to be cast as Hannibal Lector
(She isn’t afraid of tech. She’s just so bad at using it)
Bad at phones people exist (my mom) but they’re also bad at the tech that existed when younger…microwaves, VCRs, DVDs. (Also my mom)
She could wire an entertainment system but could NOT run it.
And forget Elvis. She loves 1980s hard rock.
Especially the freight ones.
I wonder if people know even trains run on diesel here.
No he’s not. He’s registering as NPP to try to dupe voters, but he’s still MAGA.
This POS is my rep & we didn’t see him in our district FOR YEARS until right before Prop 50. Never held a single townhall. Never responded to constituents’ problems.
