I'd suggest taking a step back at and asking why you interpreted a negative opinion of the movie as a negative opinion of those who enjoyed it.

Why do you feel the need to approve or disapprove of someone spending their time critiquing his work, then?

Criticising a movie isn't about finding sin, it's just another part of the enjoyment and process of art.

Generally speaking I find when the players of games say the game has a ‘good story’ it means they vaguely want to know what happens next which drives them through whatever game business they have to do, and when they say it’s ’good writing’ they usually mean the writing flatters the player char
