I can't help but think how boring the world would be if our minds all 'saw' things the same way. In turn I see #aphantasia as just part of a kaleidoscope of ways that we can imagine. Personally, having phantasia sounds like it would be terribly chaotic (but I'm glad some of you enjoy it!) (4/4)

I see a growing number of people talking about finding out they have #aphantasia as feeling like they are less-than or 'robbed' of a "richer" imagination; internalising these disordered/deficient/dehumanised tropes. (3/4)

The International #MadStudies journal (imsj.org) was such a great outlet for this publication because of the long history of how science has colonised human psychology. Where #Aphantasia is concerned, biomedical and psychological research is now even colonising our imaginations. (2/4)

Check out my recent publication (co-authored with my mum!) which explores how #aphantasia is often widely understood as a deficiency, a disorder, or dehumanising. Such understandings were common in social media posts, but also in scientific literature in the field. (1/4)

The Eurovision vote didn't go the way I expected. Its kind of both incomprehensible but also semi-unsurprising. Honestly just devastating to know 2026 is going to be yet another year we can't enjoy celebrating music together.

Feeling a little worn out (but perhaps not surprised) that the glass ceiling in lived experience leadership we described almost a decade ago (across a range of orgs) is still going strong (as described here in service orgs)...

Great work...and also very sad that these glass ceilings are still so present. We looked at the glass ceiling in lived experience roles nearly a decade now and found they were present across a range of roles (i.e., not just in service roles like these but in academic, policy, and other orgs too)

I'd seen the reporting around Keira Knightley's awful response but wow the video makes it... even worse??? It's so dismissive and callous and that horrible little laugh??? like what the hell?? And the smarmy, "I'm very sorry" in the least apologetic tone I've ever heard in my life. Jfc.

I just read a paper I wanted to cite in a grant application, only to get to the reference list and see that it cites what must be an AI hallucinated paper "written" by me. 🙃
