Saw a Live on tiktok titled “A Peasant’s Tour” which is a guy walking around a Chinese metropolitan city speaking in several languages, showing his easy access to a comfortable life compared to Americans. First thought was Severance quote: “They give us half a life and think we won’t fight for it.”

The key to feeling hope in these times is when something encouraging happens, make sure that’s the last piece of information you ever allow into your brain and then you’ll stay hopeful. Otherwise, learn how to live in the moment and stay hydrated because we’re all marathoners now.

In my high school gov class, a teacher told a group of my peers their project was “held together by generic scotch tape and feathers.” They insisted they’d worked on it for weeks, but it was obvious ego alone fueled them as their argument fell apart in round 1.
Not sure why I thought of that story.

I am not sure it would have happened under any other circumstances and no, it is definitely not too late.

I am really appreciative and grateful for how many white liberals are learning more about global politics and history right now. Historically the WL has intellectualized/righteousness-ed themselves into myopic thinking that ends up being feckless as hell.

And pretty much zero understanding of psychology.

The spin out is destructive and hurtful, yes. But it does crash as that is what defines spinning out— not the beginning or middle, only the end.

If you saw, say, a former friend ranting daily, spending all their money, stealing from others, and posting themselves on social media in grandiose costumes, you might say they’re spinning out. Now think of a whole group doing this. It’s still a spin out.
Psych pisses me off, but is helpful.

I was in high school when the movie Armageddon came out. No one could imagine doing anything but preventing the asteroid. Now we cheer when the chances increase to 3.1% and vie quietly in our minds to be “the” city.

People only react with extreme anger (meanness, hatefulness, ignorant insults, etc. are all anger behavior) when they are hurt or afraid. Cornered animals wanna strike.

Keep that in your back pocket when you’re watching assholes talk about topics close to your heart. It helps.

He didn’t say in 4 years. A hell of a lot of 💩 could go down, over time, to then pave the way for a new elected leader. History shows us this, technology will run alongside it.

Yes. Breathe. Take a step back for 5 seconds. Don’t live through your day on headlines. Decide where your energy will go.

I know this sounds weak, I know it.

But kindness is one of the few things we carry that can make a difference for each other.

We can’t undo all this hate, but we can still make life a little easier for others.
