They’ve turned what used to be considered democracy into a scary boogeyman they call “socialism” “liberalism” or ANTIFA. All to get us to accept fascist authoritarianism. Move the Overton Window enough so that option looks like the reasonable one.

The fact that it is a republic doesn't clash with the notion that it could be a democracy. A nation can be both at the same time.

That being said I think changing electoral college to popular vote would be a step in the right direction, as well as getting big money out of campaigns.

its a republic. we "elect" a handful of representatives, and those rich, corrupt individuals make all of our decisions for us
