Silence in the face of such intimidation amounts to complicity. If even Geneva is no longer a protected space for truth-seeking and accountability, the foundations of the international order are at risk. Switzerland must protest—unequivocally.

US threatens UN Human Rights Council over Israel
US parliamentarians have threatened the UN Human Rights Council with sanctions similar to those against the International Criminal Court (ICC).
These threats strike at the core of multilateral independence. #Switzerland, as host state of the UN in #Geneva, has a legal obligation—under the Headquarters Agreement—to ensure the UN can operate freely and without external pressure on its territory.

In a blatant act of political coercion, US lawmakers are now threatening the UN Human Rights Council with sanctions—simply for considering an international investigative mechanism on #Israel. Such mechanisms have been used before, including for #Syria and #Myanmar. This is not diplomacy.

Hungary to withdraw from International Criminal Court
This isn’t about legal nuance.
It’s about making sure justice and the rule of law remain grounded. So that powerful actors can continue to destroy human rights and universal principles with impunity.
Shameful and dangerous. We will #resist. www.bbc.com/news/article...

Some are rerouted.
Some never leave the gate.
Some do arrive.
#Hungary has now cancelled the flight — announcing withdrawal from the #ICC as Netanyahu, under arrest warrant, lands in Budapest.
