I deeply appreciate the work and wisdom of reviewers, but unless you've built the amount of community infrastructure on Rusinga that I have, stick to what you know.
We hired a local artist to paint a mural of what the Early Miocene on Rusinga Island may have looked like. Here he is at work! This will be just inside of the entrance at the Rusinga Island Prehistory Organization's Interpretive Centre!
Having a "mango meeting" with some of my favorite people, including @leakeyfoundation.org grantees John Kingston, Laura MacLatchy, @susycote.bsky.social('s hand), and Fredrick Manthi, plus SMU researcher Alisa Winkler. Fun to catch up with everyone and strategize about Kenyan student training.
Driving on all fours: when the engine will cut out if you dont keep your foot on the accelerator, but traffic has jammed, so you have to depress the clutch with your other foot and use the hand-brake to stop. Still have 1 limb left for the steering wheel!

To all you nice people: when someone recalls a gesture, action, or words of yours that had a huge impact but you dont recall the moment: don't feel bad! It doesn't mean you're self absorbed. It means kindness and generosity are a habit not an exception. You make the world better just by being you!
My son observed today that radio interpretations of Christmas songs vary so much more than other songs [with most versions Big Yikes, in his opinion]. Also #paleoanthropology: so many researchers interpreting limited evidence pushes some to brilliance, others to the limits of palatability.
The best defense is a good offense!

I don't know who needs to hear this, but the point of placing an online coffee order is so that it will be ready at the scheduled pick up time, not so that I can place my order when I arrive. This very modest goal should be achievable, at least when establishments are not busy.
