NewsLink Indiana recently released a story about Braiden Robinson and his project that received funding from the VAF last year. Check out the video to see Braiden at work in his studio and telling the story of how he started this new business: www.youtube.com/live/kThQxAN...
theEther.com's 20th anniversary is coming up soon, and I'd like to do a spoken word show to commemorate the milestone, but I'm on the fence regarding the scale and setting. House party? Auditorium? Artsy place like Healer or the North Church Venue? Bar like Be Here Now?
Reminder! The application deadline for our March funding cycle is in two weeks, on Saturday, January 31st. To apply for a loan to help cover the up-front costs of your Muncie-based commercial art endeavor, visit voreartsfund.org.
Voting is now open! The public is invited to visit voreartsfund.org/vote and vote on these applicants in the current funding round:
- The production and promotion of SKY PUP, a comic book by local artist Grace Longfellow
- The production of keepsake boxes sold by local artist Jennifer Amos
Pugs always look like just their face is shrugging.

Know an artist, performer, or other art-type person who's trying to get a profit-generating art project off the ground but needs financial help? The Vore Arts Fund is accepting applications until the end of this month, with public voting in the latter half of October and disbursement in November.
Hi, weirdos. I'm looking for any sideshow performers who are available for a gig in Farmland, IN on September 19th. Jugglers and fire eaters (but not any other kinds of fire acts?) are specifically requested, but the organizer seems open to anything. Hit me up and I'll connect you to them.
We're happy to announce the awarding of $1,000 to support Pressing Matters, new a series of local workshops to children and adults about the art of Gelli printing, an accessible monoprinting technique that requires no press and produces vibrant, unique prints.
From today to the end of the month, the public is invited to vote on the applications for funding that the Vore Arts Fund has received. Visit voreartsfund.org to vote today!
Do I know anyone who speaks Hebrew, Arabic, or a similar language and would be interested in doing some spoken word recordings for a comedy project of mine? I wrote a script that's partially in Western Neo-Aramaic, and I'm looking for someone who can do an approximation of the correct pronunciation.
The Ball Brothers Foundation has generously given the VAF a rapid grant to cover our operating expenses and funding cycles for the rest of 2025! Thanks to their support, we'll be accepting applications without interruption for the rest of the year and awarding loans every odd-numbered month!

Public voting for the Vore Arts Fundβs May funding cycle has opened today. From April 15th through the 30th, the public is invited to review applications for funding and cast votes for the projects that theyβd like to see supported. To vote, visit voreartsfund.org/vote.
My article's out. Give it a read if it sounds interesting. I worked for a couple weeks on it, conducted eight interviews, and really appreciated the chance to reminisce and help document this part of our lives, albeit from the perspective of just our segment of the overall community at the time.
Reminder! Tomorrow is the deadline for applying for the May funding cycle. If you're in Muncie, are at least 18, and have a commercial arts-related project and need help with the up-front costs (buying paint, booking recording time, etc.), these zero-interest loans are available to help.
Oh, dang. I confess that I haven't actually seen the survey yet; I was just passing along the link. I agree that that was a pretty big mistake, and I'll chat with Ken about it. π¬
Nope. Martial artist friend Ken, who runs a local dojo, did.
LGBTQIA+ folks, please fill out this survey to help us determine how to best craft a new self-defense class, and help share this please&thanks. We don't want to be a handful of straight, cis dudes just making assumptions about other people's experiences and needs.

Sidestep all of the racists who are scrambling all over each other to be the first to say something dumb and instead take a moment to bask in the joy that so many people not named Drake are experiencing about that show. Not everything about current events is awful. π€
Seeing the world collectively digesting Kendrick Lamar's Super Bowl performance over the last few days has been genuinely thrilling.
I think that it's vitally important that we start pronouncing DOGE "doggy" with absolute conviction that we believe that's the intended pronunciation.
GUYS, THEY PUT URKEL IN STAR WARS.
The Vore Arts Fund just got its first application for funding. The dream is coming true of honoring Phil's memory with a local arts funding program.
Applications will remain open until Jan 31, then in mid-Feb the public is invited to vote on the projects that are up for funding.

Well. It's not every day you see the dumbest thing you've ever seen.
