No problem!! That sounds good, though having peer tutors. Love that idea and the other game suggestions. THANKS
I appreciate your post! I just have a question, if you have a minute. I have tried using Apples to Apples with newcomers, but it's just complicated and U.S. culture oriented and doesn't work for them. I'm wondering if you use any modifications to make it work for your students. THANKS
Not me. Maybe because I work with ELs. Every student is different, so suggestions like "teach these vocabulary words to ELs" is often not applicable to all ELs.
Can I be added?
Oh I thought code switching was changing languages based on different social situations?
I think we have to try not to think ahead so much and just take in one day, one hour, or one minute at a time. Thinking ahead is really overwhelming me, so I'm going to focus on each now as it comes. I hope you feel a little less overwhelmed soonπ
Just read something: E Musk's mom says people can come to NY to cast numerous illegal votes, since no ID is necessary. True: no ID is necessary BUT I want non NY voters to know that voters have to sign & the signature has to match the one they have on record, which you can't see while signing
Except the white immigrants from S#!t hole countries, right? Let's see if we can name all the S#!t hole countries the white immigrants come from...I'll start - Or can you start?
Thank you for sharing! Going to look for it. Last great one I read was taken from his journals - The Autobiography of Martin Luther King, Jr. (ed, by Carson). I especially loved reading his words on the 1st day of the boycott, the anticipation of whether or not the buses would be mostly empty...
Me too!
