Mothers’ exposure to airborne pollution may increase likelihood of autism New research from Sweden suggests that mother's exposed to air pollution may have children with higher rates of autism.

A study of ~40k births suggests maternal exposure to fine particulate air pollution during pregnancy may be linked to higher likelihood of autism diagnoses at levels that meet current air quality standards. “Within guidelines” doesn’t always mean without biological effect.
