When taking a break from archaeology I like to make things. This is something I have been working on in the run up to Christmas - a Mari Lwyd tree topper. My family are from Llangynwyd and I have lovely memories of my gran telling us all about he Dad going around with the Mari when she was younger

In my non archaeology life I'm a massive folklore fan and love creating needle felt sculpture based on Welsh mythology

Historic human remains (Roman, medieval and post medieval) are particularly concentrated in areas around Central London and the Isle of Dogs whereas prehistoric remains are more commonly found upstream and downstream of the modern city.

Fabulous new results from dating of human remains (mainly crania) dredged/excavated from the River Thames. 30 new radiocarbon dates! Reinforces previous findings by Richards Bradley and Schulting of overrepresentation of Late Bronze Age and Early Iron Age remains.
