All of this at a time when the park has just lost 6 of it’s permanent full-time rangers and over 30 seasonal staff to cuts by DOGE - that I have to imagine were applauded by the tech-heavy and privileged members of the Redmond Cycling Club that sponsors the RAMROD ride.

IMHO the impact of the ride on both the park and regular visitors to the park far outweighs the benefit to the small number of affluent and apparently entitled riders demanding exclusive access in the form of road-closures and traffic flows.

An off-peak season day was apparently not acceptable, nor was a change of route through less impacted areas of the park. Instead they are demanding a day on a weekend before Labor Day for their 800-1000 riders through some of the most utilized areas of the park seeing up to 10,000 visitors/day.
