Solo traveling is very comforting to me because I feel like a ghost most of the time. I don't matter to that area, I just need to stay out of everyone's way to keep that illusion going. I keep quiet, take a few photos, and just watch the world going on without my input.

Like with slice of life stories where very little happens outside of dialogue. Or for extremely distinct manga (Franken Fran, Berserk, Ito's works) where I don't think there's anything to gain from adapting to animation
I feel like I can be both sides of this because sometimes an anime adaption adds so much with fantastic acting, visuals, sfx, and by the time I'm hooked I don't wanna go back and just read the rest of the plot if the anime is expected to continue. But sometimes you really can save yourself the time-
