A graph showing crash statistics in the congestion relief zone for the first 10 working days of each calendar year. The data show that tolling drivers to enter Manhattan below 60th Street has already reduced crashes.
The number of total crashes during the start of congestion pricing in NYC is *even lower* than the number of crashes in the same part of Manhattan (south of 60th) during the pandemic-affected weeks in the start of January 2021 and 2022. nyc.streetsblog.org/2025/01/23/c...
- listen to music instead of podcasts on walks, dance a little too if the feeling strikes you
- walks are a great time to call a friend and talk for a few minutes- no scheduling necessary. if they don't answer, call a different friend
- having a dog will force you to walk more
