Theyβre intentionally not disclosing information to anyone but those in closed door meetings, despite constituents & City Council demanding otherwise.
Atlanta mayor is fully aware. BeltLine is fully aware. So is MARTA.
Mayor is muzzling MARTA ICEO while Mayor has & owns BeltLineβs βsupportβ.
Sigh, watching the AJC slowly disintegrate bit by bit (layoffs todays and a few weeks ago) is really disheartening.
Itβs been very far from a perfect for a while; but the impact/benefit a well resourced local news org provides isnβt something we can replace with fragmented/issue based outlets.
Sorry to hear that Doug, always appreciate your coverage. Disappointed by the current direction of the AJC.
Car illegally parked in a bike lane on juniper street in Atlanta.
Tho someone did find a way to still wedge a car in there LOL
@howephil.bsky.social fyi the juniper bike lane is open!!! (Finally)
Look forward to learning if the coda or the lordstown is more reliable
Bugging out rn :/
Did they provide any explanation for why the design process for a platform extension will take 18+ months?
For beltline rail but also society in general, I'd like less innovation and more using proven technology to help people

Currently in testing, already active in SF, phoenix, and LA. The ones Iβve seen on the interstate have had safety drivers (which they always have during testing phases).
The Neighborhood Reinvestment Initiative Commission, also known as NRIC, was established by the Atlanta City Council to guide and provide oversight for the Cityβs Neighborhood Reinvestment Initiative. The initiative is a long-term effort led by Mayor Andre Dickens, the City of Atlanta, and community partners to strengthen historically underserved neighborhoods across the city. The goal is to make Atlanta the best city in the nation to raise a child by investing in housing, infrastructure, transit, and community amenities in a way that is thoughtful, responsible, and equitable.
Help me out guys I didn't pay attention in social studies:
If the mayor wants to invest money in things like affordable housing then couldn't he propose a budget with funding for those things and the city council could vote to approve that budget? Why do we need a TAD?

What's actually unfair:
πΉ Drivers gambling with other people's lives when they floor it and hope they don't get caught
πΉ Police deciding whether to issue a ticket to speeders they pull over
Speed cameras are a solution β not a problem.
Fulton County would have a lot more money for treating homelessness if they stopped under-valuing big commercial properties, which lowers their taxes.
If a government's budget is a statement about our values, so is the amount of money that we let slip away for the benefit of the powerful.
- No TAD extension considerations until Eastside BeltLine Rail begins construction
- New Fulton County Commissioners need to support & appoint MARTA Board appropriately
Unbeknownst to the public, a small group of officials from the city of Atlanta, the Atlanta Beltline and MARTA voted to stop all work on the Eastside Beltline light rail project more than six months ago: www.ajc.com/news/2026/01...
Curt Cignetti walked into a college town with little football success and said Ohio State and Michigan sucked, said he'd be at the B1G title game soon, told everyone to Google him, and literally backed all of it up in just 2 years.
As a Elon University alumni: hell ya Curt Cignetti
The streetcar is coming back Feb 3rd! I'm excited. I like our little streetcar (though I'd like it even more if it was on the Eastside Beltline too).

ποΈ Crane is up at Civic Center housing
Stop 4. Picked up some friends in Richmond and made a quick stop at a Ionna at a Wawa.
Good experience except the signs all said that ICE vehicles could also park there so a lot of the spots were ICEd
Stop 3. After walking around my undergrad, Elon University, and getting some Carolina BBQ, we stopped at a Rivian charger by a Starbucks in Henderson, NC. Got around 207kw. Easy and nice to have Starbucks nearby
Charging update: reminder to precondition! I should be getting 150-200kw but Iβm hovering in the low 100s due to low amps from the charger (I assume cold battery)
Same, I really like their aesthetic
The coffee shop nearby gave us free coffee! Thank you to Famous Toastery in Concord NC!
About 205kw, Iβve seen better in the 220s but I didnβt precondition till 10 minutes away so that might have been the culprit.
Good experience, though a hummer ev did park and not plug in next to me π«’
Stop 2: Using ABRP we went to a new Ionna station in concord NC with 45% for a quick top up. Great new canopy facility with alpitronic 400kw units.
Forgot to precondition manually so it was slow to ramp but getting 150-160kW at 50% SOC. Charger is a bit off the road in a decent shopping mall.
First stop was yesterdayβs an EVGO station (had $45 in credits to use) at a Target by the highway in Greenville SC.
Great place for a stop, got some items we needed; The car charged faster than we could shop. eGMP rocks!
24 minute shop and we were on the road to family in Charlotte for the night
Road tripping my Kia EV9 up to DC from ATL, thought I'd take after @horadam.bsky.social and post my experience. π§΅π§΅π§΅
Been very impressed with their build out. Ionna gets a lot of media coverage but Pilot is quietly filling out major charging corridors in the southeast with covered pull through chargers. Just dislike the pricing (tho itβs not worse than EA)
