These N.J. cities are joining a national fight against secret software driving up your rent Jersey City became the first municipality in New Jersey to ban these algorithms, followed by Hoboken, which recently passed a similar ordinance.

When JC and Hoboken banned RealPage, they set an example for others to follow. Now cities across the country are taking similar action.

But we can’t leave this fight to individual cities. We need a statewide ban on rent-fixing algorithms across *all* of NJ www.nj.com/hudson/2025/...
