today in technology: is my car refusing to remote start because the app just updated (vexing but hopefully will be fixed soon) or because it's single-digits Fahrenheit out (deeply defeating the purpose and making me long for the days when I could have a non-app aftermarket remote starter installed)?
I need to take a poll on the number of people who think the final Hilary Tamar book is worse than the others versus good or even better. It's definitely different, but last time I reread it, I thought it was the best of the four.
Anyway: read them, they are amazing.

truly humbling how bad I am at counting

Moby-Dick (which I would have to buy a paper copy of, because all three of my copies are ebooks) and Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell.

if the narrator in a work of fiction is telling the story by talking to "you," and the "you" is a character in the story, then the narration is first-person, NOT second-person.

I loved these Austen noirs back in the day (this post about the first two is from 2007, woof; obviously a third was since published): steelypips.org/weblog/2007/...
an absolutely stunning quilt (hand-dyed! curved piecing!) that I'm really annoyed isn't previewing properly:

a much more solid basket:

an extremely cool basket (there's another angle at the post):

an impressively precise quilt:

today's batch of pictures I took at the Fuller Craft Museum, this time all from the exhibition on quilts and baskets (I don't know why the images aren't previewing, sorry).
a soothing quilt:

thank you, putting it on my list!
another quilt, this time made of actual fabric: katenepveu.tumblr.com/post/7972428...
the first from an exhibition of quilts and baskets (currently in Annville, Pennsylvania!): katenepveu.tumblr.com/post/7972353...

today's links to pictures I took at the Fuller Craft Museum, starting with the last of the Ukrainian folk art exhibition--runs through November 2 and well worth seeing for those within range of Eastern Massachusetts!

and then I might as well mention THE GREAT GATSBY while I was at it: steelypips.org/weblog/2025/...
(I have spent too much time doing this today, but if you're interested in hearing about the GATSBY ballet I saw, let me know.)
(I posted the CINDER HOUSE review last to end on a good note, though.)
