Statement Text: As an (outgoing) committee, we are looking through the High Court ruling and Department for Education guidance that have been published hours after each other. The gist we get from the DfE guidance does not paint a great picture for trans youth who wish to socially transition, this is regardless of if their parents are suportive of them or not. Add onto this, that once trans youth do escape from the hell on earth that will be school for them, the High Court ruling will make it such that they can't use the toilets that match their gender in the workplace. Guidance such as this will cause irreparable harm to trans people who just want to live comfortably. This guidance will cause trans people, which are already feeling incredibly embattled, to lose faith. We are currently writing motions to our Spring Conference, and we are having conversations internally about the best way forwards to fight it.
