This feels like an unfair comparison given that Epic had boatloads of cash to keep Fortnite afloat while they experimented whereas Highguard was self-published. The problem here is consolidation of resources and lack of sustainable funding for new studios due to VC capture of the industry.

I've been playing Once Upon a Galaxy nonstop since John recommended it, and I really want to give this game a shoutout! It's a great mobile title, but it's also on Steam, and on their store page they have a whole section demonstrating their art process and noting that no AI is used.

The extra tidbit here that really caught me off guard is the title of "New York Stock Exchange CEO". I guess I had always assumed it was some sort of government entity? I legitimately did not think I could have a worse opinion of the stock market as a concept, but here we are.
