Though in all honesty the spirits haven’t gotten much writing. We know they exist but they don’t appear much.

For the first question: Yes. The Theocracy started really early into their society. The first Black God appeared while they were still in their stone age.

My favorite WIP 1 spirit is a tough one. I think its a tie between Yuki and the Morrigan.

-human capitalists seek profit. The democratic species capitalists seek “flow of trade.” They want more products sold in more places.

That said, profit is still important and very much still a corrupting influence on some.

They’re not figureheads, they do perform a function. King is just a title. They’re not actually kings. They’re basically senators that just get called kings.

They define capitalism more or less the same as humans, but philosophically they place a different emphasis on what the end goal should be.-

-for insulating the kings from corruption. Can’t take or receive bribes if people can’t communicate what they want in exchange right?

-isn’t also a king. (Meaning only the newest elected speaks to the people or makes announcements. The others cannot even speak to others in private, unless the newest is misrepresenting them). This is viewed as necessary-

-can only affect the corporations, and not the people. The rare instances where it affects the people is usually due to an overlap or because it strengthens the people in some way. Further, with the exception of the youngest or newest King, the others are forbidden from talking with anyone that-

Finally are the Kings. The kings are not literal kings but very limited elected representatives. They’re just called kings because it was seen as scary to the corporations. Their primary function is to regulate corporate powers and prevent them from becoming too influential. Most of their laws-

-corporate category. But the military is considered a non-profit organization and can only act with the unanimous consent of the kings or 3/4ths vote of the people.

-but corporations are not people under democratic species law and cannot vote. What they can do is try to influence the vote through media campaigns (and less legally, bribes).

Additionally, because militaries usually require a formal hierarchy, the military falls under the-

-behind their vote. Majority rules for most topics, but delcaring war, reduction in rights for anyone, or anything of a particularly serious nature require 3/4ths of the population to vote in favor.

Corporations unofficially have a lot of power due to the lax trade laws and their wealth-

-never emerged.

Their politics can be divided into 3 categories/ the people, the kings, and the corporations.

The People have priority. Someone proposes a law and then all “people” within the territory are allowed a vote (note I did not say “citizen” However, citizens do get an increased value-

To answer the 2nd question first, only 1. As they are mostly a direct democracy, the concept of national barriers doesn’t make a great deal of sense. Not to mention fleeing their original home planet that was destroyed by a black hole. So they needed to stick together and new countries-

Roger Smith from American Dad, but dressed and acting like Gollum from Lord of the Rings.

In the original version of the story there was no question he was the good guy. But to translate it into a book, I had to either make him ambiguous or take away a lot of his power. Power is too important a part of the character, so ambiguity it was.

Lich Story:
Demetre is dead. In her undeath, she just wants to indulge in her many appetites and avoid loneliness.

Evil/Hell: concept does not apply.

WIP 3 main antagonist: Kill all life. (Predictable).

WIP 3 side antag, Serrate: She’d rather find a way to not die at all. She’s been pretty good at that. But if she had to pick, she wants to end all violent conflict.

Antags:
Monster King: He’s never thought about it.
Monster Queen: She achieved it 2000 years ago. It was to personally kill a specific ancient lord.

The Emperor: Create a high-tech, all-inclusive, universal paradise. End war, famine, and disease.

Nozomi: Marry Mi-Kyong, have a threesome (she’s done that before but another is always good), perform a metal song in the Vatican, have peace of mind, legalize polygamy and marry her boyfriend too.

MCs:
Inazuma does not have a bucket list. And even if he did, most of his goals have either been realized or rendered impossible. At this point he just wants to raise his kid as best he can and protect the world.

The Emperor: “I’m pretty much good with how things are, though I’d like to be a full heroic character.”
Me: “There’d be no conflcit if you were just a hero…i still wish you were real if it helps.”

My main MCs only for this one:

Inazuma: “Why can’t I be with her?!”
Me: “Because this isn’t a romance…unless your the antags lol”

Nozomi: “Just what the f*ck is wrong with you?!”
Me: “excellent question. I like monsters and drink coffee.”

WIP 3 AU side story: an Alternate universe story that resembles high fantasy, but isn’t. Has one species in common with WIP 3.

Kitsune Gaiden: a VERY freeform short story collection. I’d call it a comedy, because “nonsense” isn’t a genre lol.

WIP 3: A space age sci-fi with an eccentric alien dictator “The Emperor” as the MC.

Mr.Shang side project: A single chapter written for a Jiangshi horror story.

Lich Story: An erotic horror about a hedonist Lich.
