Busy streets with fast car traffic rob you from hearing the sounds of streets busy with life - birds chirping, kids playing, music, footsteps from walking, friends chatting while coasting on their bikes, people walking and having conversations.

Lt Anthony Espinoza of the Los Angeles police department said the driver of a Toyota Prius lost control after hitting the bicyclist and then swerved into the bakery section of the market.
Ughh what a terrible incident. And the Guardian version of the article gets the order wrong. The driver lost control _after_ hitting someone on a bike??
