Honestly pseudo-poetically flirting with these ideas in our current era is the strongest possible signifier that you're not worth engaging with on this topic. I haven't blocked you but you are muted now. Look to the DAIR institute, Emily Bender et al and re-evaluate.
There was an episode of cowboy bebop about this
Is there a dagger such as this in her hand for me?
A close cropped image of a woman with long greenish hair in a leather leotard, dragon wings emerging from her head and her back. Itβs Morrigan Aensland from Capcom!
THE Night Warrior
Good video game.
Ultimately AI exposes the central conceit of infinite growth: a lot of βjobsβ donβt actually produce anything of value. The tasks AI are βgood atβ are ones where everyone involved is only interested in checking the βdoneβ box on a task nobody really cares about or understands in the first place
I'm gonna repeat my comment.
Talking about nonexistent "super intelligent" machines is like talking about the Cookie Monster rather than corporations creating real things causing harm. A non existent machine god bringing apocalypse or utopia is a framing that is harmful. Period.
The AI Doc:
"to discuss the possible societal impacts of domestic violence, we've sat down with Chris Benoit and Oscar Pistorius"
But are the two companies really so different at the end of the day? Ed Zitron, a prominent AI commentator and tech PR specialist, argues thereβs little daylight between them β and that the disagreements are trifling, at best. βThey are very similar companies doing very similar things with very similar goals, which is to enrich their executives and get as much media attention as possible,β Zitron told DFD. He pointed out that Anthropic and OpenAI have both lobbied for export controls on semiconductors, and similarly pushed the idea that the U.S. needs to boost the AI sector to compete with China. They advocate for safety rules at various times, some of which have caught on in state legislatures, though Zitron contends that thereβs little possibility that those efforts will gain much traction on the federal level given the hesitance around tech regulation in the current administration. Zitron said, βDario Amodei and Sam Altman are functionally the same guy β they just look a bit different.β
Talked to Politico about Sam Altman and Dario Amodei being the same guy

Nice of Florida to provide an official list of demonstrably true things.
Also smallcaps on a header is grounds for immediate ejection from any education related field. Appalling choice.
An area man staring at his ipad has been overheard sighing deeply, and saying:
"I gotta get back on the pencils man"

It's possible none of that work amounted to anything meaningful if you sincerely believe this could be a discussion worth having.
I would shoot the computer with a handgun five to eight times
"Our standing rule is: If one of us brings up using GenAI in any of our work, then it's safe to assume we've been assimilated by The Thing and should be burned alive by Kurt Russell," said a game design consultant in the US.

I am more and more a believer in the idea that a goal for genAI is to destroy open source
5 hours and he can't even get one of his agents to come up with something that sounds plausible. How much evidence could one possibly need.
βMr. Beast Salesforce adβ - theyβre calling it the least appealing phrase ever assembled in any language. They finally did it
one of my strongest beliefs is that we're in our situation right now bc some of the most prominent talking heads (e.g. joe rogan, andrew schulz) are learning about politics in their 40s and 50s, instead of their teens and early 20s, and we have to go along for the ride as they learn basic things
I knew you were brave, but this is truly courageous
YT shorts are what has finally convinced me that actually some gatekeeping is v good and preventing the laziest and stupidest people in the world from sharing their brains with everyone else was a great thing for the world and the human condition
