Now I am curious, weather and events aside, are there some hours of the day that are more restful than others over there?

Suppression and denial of grief for our immediate loved ones is part of how capitalism extracts our humanity and how fascism convinces us dead children are OK.

GRIEF IS RESISTANCE

I feel like we could use a PSA on the safety aspects of improperly fitted shoes. Tripping, falling, laces that could cause strangulation, friction-induced overheating, leaving aside the medical issues which I think are a different organization's problem?

Librarysky! Had a patron the other day trying to contact an incarcerated loved one, couldn't figure out the specific app that the specific institution used for like... zoom call substitute. Does anybofy provide assistance with these kinds of calls? We do have a private communication booth...

Grief is human. Grief is spiritual. Grief is political. Grief is radical. Grief is real.

That's just March in the Rocky Mountains.

But the forecast for 90F next week IS rather concerning.

My kid came home absolutely broken by people's cruelty about his grief. His friend is actively dying but he's supposed to have already moved on and gotten over it?? Fuck that shit. In this house we cry ugly and loud and we mourn our beloveds and we DGAF about capitalist timelines for death & grief.

Having feelings about finally just emailing my advisor and asking for a push to help get really moving again after spending all of February sick. Every ball i had had in the air crashed around my feverish little body and once and I seem to need some help finding them all again.

An orange cat sitting on a human. A book with an ILL paper wrapper is beside them.

Really want to just rot for an hour and nap but Py is well trained to know it is time to get in a chapter of work reading so she herded me to the proper chair by the book pile and is holding me down in reading position.

I keep trying to convince Kid2 that 5'8" is NOT short but he thinks he's a shrimp. Me down here looking up at him wondering how I produced such tall kids .

This is true. Only cats can match goats for pure Curiosity Chaos. Cows are mostly just clumsy and careless. Goats are basically big mostly vegetarian cats w hooves and a dog's willingness to eat anything, consequences be damned.

I think @heinrich.senate.gov is ready to retire. He sure seems to be asking to get replaced with a senator who actually reads their mail and answers their phone.

Only someone who has never had a cow in the vegetable garden would think Petting Zoo sounds like a good idea.

You know that scene in movies where someone has to hand over all their weapons and they just KEEP COMING and there’s a ridiculously large pile of weapons somehow hidden on their person?

Well, that’s what it feels like when I clean under the couch and I find ten zillion cat toys πŸ˜‚

I have the symptoms of "Havana Syndrome" but nearly certain it was kicked off by a very mild tummy bug I had in summer of 2019 combined w a genetic migraine problem. Post-infection problems make A LOT more sense than "secret weapon" attack.

Anna is right. I’m fairly certain that home security systems have killed more women than they saved. Abusers are much more likely to use them to escalate violence than police are to intervene.

Grading student journals for Intro to World Religions can be so hopeful. And so depressing.

how that happens---how men are convinced that they know what needs to happen to other people's lives, aspirations, bodies, and that other people surely want for themselves what men imagine them to want---is worth study, because the resulting ignorance-that-feels-like-knowledge is destroying us

We've had this fight for years now. I will die on this mountain.
