Croydon residents were promised accountability by having a Mayor but yet that’s the exact opposite we’re getting with Jason Perry.
Councillors and the staff affected need to know what’s going on!

Residents in Croydon have waited months to learn what the Mayor is actually proposing to do in his review of the youth engagement team. Scrutiny is on Tuesday & the paperwork still hasn't been shared with the councillors on that committee.
What's he trying to hide?

Grateful to have been able to secure an adjournment debate this evening to discuss Croydon Area Remodelling Scheme.
The scheme would unblock the Croydon bottleneck. It could improve services across the South East and upgrade two of the Croydon’s busiest train stations.
Thank you so much for coming!
We've heard again and again how greatly young people value the team and their work and also how parents and carers need open access youth services. It's critical that these voices are heard in this process
If you haven't already, please sign the petition led by @ndironsmp.bsky.social and reach out to @rowennadavis.bsky.social & myself about what the service means to you
It's been months since the Mayor announced a restructure of Croydon's Youth Engagement Team & we still don't have clarity on timelines for this decision or how the community's views will be heard
Well done for coordinating such a successful event 👏

It's always a privilege to help @ndironsmp.bsky.social and the team of local volunteers run our constituency coffee mornings. I learn so much about what matters to people in Croydon & am always grateful people give us their time for these valuable conversations
Great article here from my Croydon Labour colleague Rowenna Davis on what communities need if we want healthy high streets
The TLDR of Croydon Council’s budget tonight:
😡 Council tax up - by the maximum amount allowed again. Pay more, get less
✂️4 libraries closed, the youth service & carers support are next on the chopping block with £16m of FURTHER cuts to come
🧾 Residents footing the bill for Mayor’s incompetence
A frosty start to 2025 but warm reception on the #labourdoorstep Thanks to everyone who took the time to speak to us 🌹
A photo of a hand drawn Christmas card with a Robin on a branch
Back of a card reading that it was designed by a student at Bessemer Primary and printed for Helen Hayes MP
It felt particularly lovely to spot this card at work from as I so enjoyed teaching Ricardo when he was just starting at Bessemer in the nursery class I taught.
A reminder of how connected we can all feel and well done to him for having his design chosen by Helen Hayes MP
The Croydon Youth Assembly have had a fantastic 2024 which has made the decision to delete the posts leading the CYA a huge blow. The CYA are calling on the Council for the chance to comment on this decision - read more here

Letter from Woodside Councillors to Mayor Jason Perry about making the Spring Lane junction safer
The frightening collision outside St Luke's Church Woodside last week is something our Woodside Labour team want to see addressed urgently. We are asking for a site visit to understand how this junction could be made safer to ensure we do not see a serious injury here.
It was a lovely service and I'm grateful to have been able to take part and celebrate with the Woodside community
I'm here to chat about Croydon and what I love about being a resident in SE25 and Labour Councillor for Woodside.
I'm a former teacher & the shadow cabinet lead for Children & Young People so looking to follow leaders in this space.
