The OHBM DIC is calling for neuroimagers to share their work with children ages 8-15 and inspire the next generation of Brain Mappers. We welcome submissions to the event in Bordeaux and submissions for satellite events in your local community. This year's website: ohbm-dic.github.io/kidsreview/2...
Idk if this matters to anyone but a reviewer recently dinged me for using gendered language in an ms. Please note that some of us were taught to use she/her in writing to designate unknown gender as a means of redressing the default he/him. Tysm

Now this is interesting. I feel that way when more junior people approach me, but I tend to see more senior people as hopelessly busy and overwhelmed. Thank you for the insight into this.
Thank you. Iβve met wonderful people indeed, just donβt know how much is too much ask.
Hey all, how do you build a network of mentors you can reach out to for advice? Beyond peers and oneβs formal supervisors? Some of these academic processes are so opaqueβ¦tia

Psychedelics disrupt the link between vascular and neuronal activity, which complicates interpretations of fMRI data. Adopting a more holistic view of what constitutes brain activity may help.

I nicked this book from the bedside table of my in-laws guestroom years ago and finally, recently read it in depth. Itβs a bit dated now but it does trace the road taken since in consciousness and self studies. Recommend (glad I stole it)!

People made risky decisions about pain for others. They were more cautious, more generous, and systematically overestimated others' pain. In the brain, pain risk tracked with responses in the dorsal striatum, with a higher response for others' han to one's self.
