The mountain, it’s black stone, it’s cold water, and the Temple of the Moon. Settled in the heights, hidden among dark, rocky pinacles, far from civilisation. The Brothers and Sisters say he was left at the gates, by whom they cannot guess, there’s no one else around here for miles after all. It’s just them, the mountain, and the moon. For twenty years Jimin only knows the Brothers and Sisters, he only walks the black stone halls of the temple and the black stone paths of the mountain, he only sees rest of the world from a distance so great that sometimes he doubts it is even real. The others tell him tales of it, they say he could go to it, if he so chooses, but so far Jimin has refused. He is happy here, safe, barefoot on the polished floors which are perpetually warmed by the thermal pools below them. The air smells perpetually of incense and tea, and there is always someone to speak with, something to learn. The temple and it’s accolytes are his entire world, and he is content. Then the wolves arrive.

His other brother is not impressed. “Remind me again why you wanted to come here at all?” Yoongi grumbles, arms crossed over his chest, and a perpetual scowl on his lips. “It used to be a tradition to get the blessings of the Moon when one ascended to pack alpha,” Namjoon explains. And yes, that is what Jeongguk has told everyone, that he wants to honor their ancestors and tradition by making the pilgrimage here, but there is something more to it. He hasn’t told them about the dreams.
