A poster with branding for the MRC-University of Glasgow Centre fo Virus Research, labelled 'Virus Snowflakes.' The poster shows snowflake-like virus designs and song lyrics reading:
On the twelfth day of Christmas, a virus gave to me,
Twelve fights worth winning,
Eleven Christmas dinners,
Ten lunar landers,
Nine childhood vaccines,
Eight tools for teaching,
Seven dogs a-barking,
Six wasps a-laying,
FIIIIVE TIIINY RIIIIIIINGS,
Four vaccine platforms,
Three genome segments,
Two twinned capsids, and
A world that is too small to see
Feeling festive?
Why not deck the halls with @cvrinfo.bsky.social's papercraft #VirusSnowflakes and celebrate the science of viruses and the fight against viral diseases.

T cell nomenclature diagram titled "T cell nomenclature: from subsets to modules" shows existing and alternative modular T cell nomenclature with examples. Text includes descriptions of T cell types and functions.
A Consensus Statement in Nature Reviews Immunology clarifies the existing subset-based nomenclature for T cells. It also proposes an alternative modular nomenclature that is designed to be brief and flexible and to avoid ambiguity and unwanted implications. go.nature.com/3Xzfoqb #immunosky 🧪

I'm incredibly honoured to be presenting my research on CD8 TRM in liver fibrosis within the ‘Immune interactions in tissues’ session at @britsocimm.bsky.social Congress 2025!
Added to this, I’m also excited to be selected to share this work as part of the Bright Sparks Postdoc session 🥳

Without an understanding of immune tolerance, organ transplantation will not be possible. Also, their discoveries opened avenues for cancer and auto immune disease therapies.
Congratulations to these year's awardees of the nobel prize in physiology or medicine.

Nuclear polarization to the immune synapse facilitates an early transcriptional burst
Cytotoxic T lymphocyte target recognition triggers rapid nuclear polarization to the immune synapse and an early transcriptional burst of cytokines.
Now in #Science #Immunology: @griffithslab.bsky.social report that when #CD8 #TCells encounter their targets, #nucleus localizes to the #ImmuneSynapse (IS) & facilitates delivery of newly synthesized cytokines to the IS. They find nuclear polarization represents key step in #CTL -mediated killing!
