This is what police have been doing to black Americans since forever. Enough of the "this isn't who we are." You're now noticing because it's white people.

Digital illustration of a group of four activists protesting attacks on immigrants. There is a large sign that reads, 'if there is no justice for the people, let there be no peace for the government.'
Y'know... I wonder if we'd be seeing so many instructors jumping to use AI in the classroom if we actually trained people how to teach. At all.

I was reading the comments on a local news article about Medicaid cuts and a Missouri woman called having access to healthcare a βlifestyleβ that isnβt meant for folks who canβt afford it.
I have never read anything more sad, or American, in my lifeβ¦
A timely quote from Dr. Carla Hayden: βLibraries are a cornerstone of democracyβwhere information is free and equally available to everyone. People tend to take that for granted, and they donβt realize what is at stake when that is put at risk.β
New Data Shows Ongoing Decline in Youth Drug Use We asked a researcher for his perspective. Photo of Richard Miech: Team lead of Monitoring the Futureβa series of youth-focused studies that began in 1975.
Something surprising is happening:

A reminder that if the government can send migrants to a prison camp without any due process, it can send U.S. citizens there, too. I know because this happened to me and my family in 1942.
"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed."

It's poetry that racist Strom Thurman's filibuster record to stop the Civil Rights Act was broken by a black man in the Senate. Condolences in Hell, Strom.
This is utterly incredible to watch. Beating Strom Thurmond's record and speaking truth into the historical record is an absolute achievement. Do not go quietly and keep making good trouble @booker.senate.gov
βGreat school culture is not an accident. It happens when we recognize that we all depend on each other, and then work together to create supportive, caring conditions for everyoneβstudents, teachers, support staff, guests, everyone!β βDavid Geurin, Principal

βHistory has shown us that authoritarian regimes target academics first, fearing the power of inquiry, free expression and the pursuit of truth. We do not choose the times in which we live, but we do choose how we act in those times.β

It's true! Adults are also baffled when we tell them that and it always worries me
Walz: I think they hate public education because itβs easier to run an authoritarian government if you donβt have a population that knows.
