This is a monstrous bill, a declaration of war on American families. It guts our services to fund giveaways to billionaires and exponentially scale up Trump's personal secret police force.
We'll hold Rs who passed it accountable and we'll fight every step of the way to protect those it harms.
The MAGA Congress just passed devastating cuts that will take Medicaid from 250,000 Washingtonians.
Washington's Reps. Baumgartner and Newhouse voted in favor of the cruel cuts, which will disproportionately affect their constituents in Eastern and Central Washington.
Graphic showing percentages of population covered by Medicaid. Text reads: more than half of children in 26 Washington counties are covered by Medicaid
Medicaid touches health care in every stage of life, for Washingtonians in every corner of our state.
Federal cuts to Medicaid would be felt by all Washingtonians, regardless of ZIP code or party affiliation.
Check out these July events in Shoreline!!
Amazing turnouts yesterday! Great job, everyone! @indivisshorelinewa.bsky.social

For the would-be dictator, success depends on projecting power and creating an aura of inevitability. They need you to believe that Trump is the new normal, that the MAGA movement will be in power for the long haul, that the only rational move is to go along, keep your head down, and protect your own interests. Weβve seen over the last six months what happens when this aura of inevitability goes unchallenged. Institutions -- from state governments to businesses to civil society to higher education to media -- start to fall in line, do what Trump tells them, and/or go silent. Hereβs the thing: The aura of inevitability is a lie. Itβs all a lie. Power in American society doesnβt derive from the top down. Trumpβs grasp is brittle, and heβs overreaching dramatically. He will only succeed if everyone agrees to believe the lie. Or, as our friend Reverend Barber says: A king is only a king if we bow down. Countering the aura of inevitability requires a hundred different tactics and strategies. It looks like making an example of Target for obeying in advance and getting rid of its DEI policies. It looks like protesting and toxifying Elon Musk until he bows out of government. It looks like students at Georgetown making a list of Big Law collaborators and organizing their peers to steer clear. It looks like federal workers refusing to obey illegal or unethical orders. It looks like building the muscles and the relationships for collective action. In short, it requires a countless number of people in a countless number of places to do something that the Trump regime doesnβt want them to do, or to NOT do something the Trump regime wants them to do. Thatβs how we shake off the aura of inevitability and halt the autocratic breakthrough.
Very easy to feel doomerish right now, but I'm taking some heart from this @leahgreenberg.bsky.social message laying out the rationale for Saturday's No Kings protests.

We often look back on the seminal moments in our history and wonder "What would I have done?"
This is our moment. This is our time.
We must stand up. We must speak out. We must do everything we can to stop a President who has every intention of destroying our democracy.
Protect our voter rights!
If you know anyone in Marie Glusenkamp Perez's district call them and urge them to call her and tell her to vote NO. Here in WA it's the the 3rd district which includes Astoria, Vancouver, Longview, Centralia.
Excellent protest at the Seattle Center today under blue skies. #handsoff @indivisible.org
This is what #democracy looks like! I β₯οΈ #NYC @indivisible.org #HandsOff
Thank you for sharing this important article! It's all making sense now.
We had 200 events last week during congressional recess - most of them "missing member" town halls in GOP districts and states.
Next up is the April 5th "Hands Off!" mobilization. Already 600(!) events on the map.
This is everywhere. It's not going away. And it's building.
