I think nowadays following someone online is less “see their posts” and more “tune your feed to slightly increase the likelyhood of their posts showing on your feed”, with the traditional like/share/follow structure being secondary to a primordial ooze of posts.

Paradoxically, the things I’ve posted that netted the most interactions are on a fandom side account with 40 followers. Idk what to do with this data, but it’s interesting!
