The start of my shirt is kinda an afront to proper patterning
Since it's a knit fabric I cut out a rectangle that would fit my waist and just pinned and cut until I like how it looked.
You can see the different iterations it took
Since this was a stash knit I'll need to dye it purple
You can see it taking shape even while just pinned together
I'm mostly following the pattern instructions but adding my own flare here and there.
Such as with the epaulettes, which I add 2 layers of cotton flannel to for a slight loft since my coat will also have shoulder pads.
Moving onto the jacket
I'm putting a little more effort into this than necessary but that's fun sometimes
I used a set of hymo coat frontals from Wawak as an interfacing for my coat so it feels more like a blazer. The back has light fusible interfacing while the lapels got the padstitching treatment

As this is my first project of this year I started slow so I could ramp up.
I traced her appliques with a heat transfer marker, temporarily tacking down the designs with tacky glue before stitching with a zig zag stitch. I didn't like how empty the space was so I used paint on the inside.
Pattern is from @indigojinjo.bsky.social who I trust with my life so I can breeze through this project.
The base of my uniform is this delicious wool I found in the NY fabric district with the accents as this poly dupioni.

Thinking about the fixes I plan to make to Alma
Remembers I used every scrap of cream seude I had so her knee brace will need a new hide
I usually fly up to Toronto then rent a car to drive up to the mountain (It's about a 2 hour drive).
Yeti does offer a shuttle bus up but there's only one.
Another friend fully drives up to the resort over 2 days since we live in MD. It's doable in a straight shot if you have people taking turns
Also Cithis was a wip from last year I paused because I didn't like how she was turning out, so that's not even a fully from scratch project
