Keir Starmerβs Independent Ethics Adviser says he doesnβt have the grounds to investigate the Prime Minister over Peter Mandelsonβs appointment
βThe documentation that has been made public indicates that the relevant process for a political appointee was followedβ
Apparently this is right-wing coded now, but I wouldn't have thought for a second before selecting historic milestones. I am, as ever, utterly alienated from the British public.
We know we need to go further and faster on the cost of living and give people hope, but weβre seeing real Labour help coming through. (Nice to persuade the audience member on that)

This is cruel to the young people concerned, self-destructive for the UK and will not win over a single Reform voter.
And, perhaps more importantly (in terms of current influence), those of Badenoch and Farage, plus their media cheerleaders
The US says it will loosen sanctions on other countries buying Russian oil and petroleum loaded on vessels at sea, in a bid to curb price rises
The cost of oil rose to more than $100 a barrel yesterday
Russia continues to pound Ukrainian cities with drones on a daily/nightly basis
The Middle East is on fire, UK military bases are under attack, energy prices are going through the roof and the official opposition is spending its week wanging on about pictures of otters

How it started ... How it's going
What a spectacle of incoherence.
Reformβs Welsh leader promises not to go down the NHS/insurance routeβ¦while Farage keeps that option open for the rest of us. Probably because heβs already committed to selling us out.
Corruption and betrayal nailed on with this lot.

On some level Iβm not sure my mind can quite grasp the raw stupidity of conducting a massive decapitation strike against Iran with no day two plan whatsoever, and then immediately finding yourself in a worldwide energy crisis with no off-ramp because you didnβt expect Iran to react
Fiona Bruce, "Should the Prime Minister Keir Starmer resign over Mandelson?"
Kay Burley, "No, of course he shouldn't"
"He's a bit busy trying to keep us out of WWIII"
It is extremely difficult to construct a practical case against this position. Net Zero is now as much about patriotism as it is about climate change.
We can all agree that I'd look fantastic on a Β£5 note
Negotiating with Starmer to keep Farage out of power: Nah.
Negotiating with Vladmir Putin: Sure thing.
Also Zack Polanski: Starmer shouldn't negotiate with Trump, he isn't to be trusted!
My humble submission to the new Bank of England with concepts for the new bank notes to please both sides.
BREAKING: βJust hanging about. Thatβs how she described our pilots in the region. They have been flying sorties in 7 of the 10 countries in the region night and day, taking out incoming strikes, protecting the lives of others whilst risking their ownβ
Keir Starmer
#PMQs
Keir Starmer: 'In this job, you don't get a second shot at making the right call on taking your country to war.
'If she (Kemi Badenoch) were Prime Minister, we would be in the war, and she would be coming back to Parliament a week later to say, "oh, sorry, I got that one wrong".'
Starmer turning the screw over Badenoch's claim she never wanted the UK to join US/Israeli invasion of Iran
"She & the Reform leader have been spooked, because theyβve realised they jumped into supporting a war without considering the consequences, and now sheβs furiously trying to backpedal."
Badenoch said if she was prime minister HMS Dragon would have left a week ago. Presumably with its doors hanging off and with no weapons onboard.
Telling how confident Starmer now feels in owning his Iran decision. His best outing against Badenoch at PMQs in months. KB not alone in shifting her position. Many of those in the press and politics demanding war and condemning Starmer loudest have been far quieter since the inevitable chaos began.
When Robert Jenrick was Housing Minister, he rolled out a βGreen Housing Revolutionβ:

It includes Heat Pumps, reducing fossil fuels, solar, preventing climate change etc.
Heβs now pretending heβs Mr Reform anti-Net Zero.

This story suggests that Witkoff and Kushner bungled the negotiations with Iran because they don't understand nuclear technology
www.ms.now/news/trump-i...
Impressed that Kemi Badenoch now seems to be calling for an ... independent British war on Iran?
The Greens want NIMBY votes and they want votes from people who want massive renewables investment and they want votes from people who want cheaper housing and lower rents. They can dodge the obvious contradictions of this for a while - luxury of insurgent opposition - but not forever.
New More in Common poll finds that 55% of British voters want Keir Starmer to prioritise "standing up to Trump", compared to just 27% who say he should prioritise working with him.
74% say they want British forces to have either no involvement in the Iran war or to just offer defensive cooperation.
π¨ WATCH: Labour MP Charlotte Nichols reveals she was raped as an MP as she opposes the jury trial reforms
"I waited 1,088 days to go to court. We've been told [by the Government] that if we have concerns about this Bill, it's because we've not been raped"
With every passing day, the decision of Starmer and his cabinet a) not to join the Iranian war b) to delay access to bases looks wiser and wiser. Trumpβs press conference last night shows he has no real idea what the objectives are and its duration is arbitrary.
EXC: Nigel Farage defends Reform-run Kent County Council increasing council tax by 3.99% despite election leaflets last year pledging to βreduce waste and cut your taxesβ.
Mr Farage told ITV News Meridian: βCutting taxes can be not putting them up as much, I suppose.β
If true that Trump is signalling an end in sight, then what weβve learned from this fiasco is that the Iranian regime does not collapse even under intense pressure & the rest of the world canβt endure closure of the straits of Hormuz for very long at all www.wsj.com/livecoverage...
