What's scary about this story is the surveillance it hints at. This trans woman had changed her name, legally, but chose not to change her gender marker. She was apparently flagged in the DMV system as trans and her license was invalidated under a law that supposedly only concerned gender markers.

You can encourage people to become more civically involved without downplaying the importance of voting.

Voting is just one part of it... but it is an important part.

So is being active in your community and speaking up for the causes that you believe in.

Both matter greatly.

At this point we have not heard from anyone being helped via relocation resources. These exist, but I assume they are overwhelmed.

Incredibly awful news coming out of Kansas - an effort to disenfranchise Trans people from voting as ID is required, but also to criminalize them. Driving on an expired license is a crime, but how else do you get a new one within 24h? Trans Rights are human rights; this should concern all of us.

Could you boost this as well?
