People often ask where I get my wood, well listen out for chainsaws, a local school had a sycamore that had dropped some limbs.
I went and had a chat with the tree surgeons they said I could take what I wanted, so I now have 6 new rounds, approximately 30cm high and wide.
Lots of spoons to come.

When you see me at a market feel free to have a look, I usually have a board out with some for your perusal, usually a combination of cooking and eating spoons.

As some of you know, I carve wooden spoons in my spare/spare time.
I've been running low on fresh wood, then last week two people contacted me to say they had put some aside for me, I collected it on Sunday.
Some Hazel, Ginkgo, and Acer.
It's always exciting to get, thank you beautiful people.

On Saturday a lovely customer dropped this in to me, asking if I could find it a good home.

The mechanism works great, I've given it a quick clean and dressed the wheel.

If you're looking to set new bevels on chisels or other tools this would work great.

On Tuesday we had our first Pathcarvers meeting of the new year, at @Hold Creative Spaces.

Katie collected Christmas trees so made a start on stripping some down to make whisks.
Simon made a butter spreader, Thomas a spoon-horn, and I made a deep soup spoon based on the Norwegian Spoon Design.
