I have a story coming out in Ellen Datlow's forthcoming All Hallows Eve anthology! (It arrives Sept 2026, in time for next Halloween). I'm most curious about Josh Malerman's story. I loved BIRDBOX and I want what he does at short-story length.

I picked up this collection after reading Thomas Ha’s wonderful β€œwindow boy” last year. I’m only partway through reading the collection but can confirm that the first three stories are bangers. Ha has a knack for weird, surreal, and psychologically complex storytelling.

Great suggestion. Is there a particular Sherman story you'd recommend?

My post #WorldCon plane book was Anne de Marcken’s It Lasts Forever and Then It’s Over- a literary zombie novel using undead bodies as a metaphor for grief. It's short, spare, & poetic, with allusions to Judith Butler & Djuna Barnes.

Liked it. Not sure I got everything it was doing on this read.

Elliott Bay Book Company Full-service, general bookstore operating since 1973. Frequent author events, cafe, over 150,000 titles

Quick plug: if you're at Seattle #WorldCon and haven't yet walked over to the fabulous Elliot Bay Bookstore, I highly recommend it. It's a wonderfully curated store with great staff picks & it's pretty close to the convention center.

Just finished Kay Chronister's THE BOG WIFE. Melancholy, lovely ecogothic/folk-horror novel about a dysfunctional family navigating their collective griefs & figuring out a new way to relate to each other and the land. #posthumanism #Gothic #ecocriticism

Thanks to #horrorreads I've added @pseudopod.org to my podcast rotation. Listened to episode 980 featuring Nesters by @siobhancarroll.bsky.social and loved it! @leannareneehieber.bsky.social killed it as the voice talent as well ;)

Thank you SO much! @pseudopod.org is one of my very favorite hosts, and I was so honored to bring @siobhancarroll.bsky.social's devastatingly beautiful "Nesters" to life! So appreciate your kind words!

Re: movie - I actually have at least one story in the works that's set in the same universe, but it needs to get itself written. (gah!)
