I can understand that as a climate justice activist. And as an Iranian it’s also irritating to experience the denial of the regime’s harm and think it’s just climate when it’s absolutely not.

Talking about the mismanagement is very important for Iranians though. It helps the regime to act like they haven’t played a part in all this. People don’t talk about the fight for liberation in Iran enough, as an Iranian, I see this very strongly.
Begging of us also to stand in solidarity with Iranians who are fighting a corrupt regime that has mismanaged water, which has made this far far worse. We need to get better at our intersectionality in this as talking about it just from the climate perspective doesn’t help Iranians.

Friendly reminder: Iran’s issue is the climate crisis but it is heavily compounded by the fact that the regime is corrupt & mismanaging water. They are executing people at an alarming rate. The climate crisis is a human rights crisis in Iran. The movement needs to show solidarity & talk about it.
