They (MAGA) donβt know puck either, and it would be much funnier to me if myself and my loved ones werenβt being constantly affected by MAGA.
See also: their Jack Hughes worship. Heβs a fine player, but he injured himself at a team dinner. Not the βalpha maleβ MAGA loves.
As a moderate support needs autistic woman, I am *so tired*, especially surrounding autism discourse as of late.
It feels like MSN autistics, particularly MSN women, are left out of *every single conversation* surrounding ASD. We exist in the middle, and neither side likes it.
Itβs frustrating.
People who were diagnosed as kids when I was a kid still got slapped by teachers.
Lotta other not great stuff, but I really need late-diagnosed people in their 30βs to understand what things were actually like.
On one hand we have Uta Frith saying awful conversion-therapy-adjacent stuff, and on the other, "neuroqueers" starting an event for autistic people, but *only* those who do not need disability services. (Yes, both really did just happen.)
Can I be less tired, then I could get more angry!

This International Womenβs Day, we celebrate autistic girls and women. We celebrate their voices, their identity, and a future where autistic girls and women are recognised, supported and empowered.Β

Happy #WorldBookDay!
Reading has been one of the most important interests in my life, especially since childhood. I am the writer I am today because I read.
What are you currently reading?
(My answer: βNeuroTribesβ by Steve Silberman.)
North Carolina. Itβsβ¦ interesting.
Youβre not. Itβs so misogynistic, alongside being ableist. I feel like autistic women have to deal with an extra dosage of misogyny on top ofβ¦ everything else.
We have a trade to announce (as long as the player says yes and we ever find out the actual details of the deal)
Iβve battled with disordered eating for a long time, and I love womenβs hockey. Iβm horrified to see Ozempic ads ON THE BOARDS during games as everyone I know gets thinner and thinner. I cannot escape this at all.
A graphic titled βMASKINGβ lists examples of behaviours associated with masking in neurodivergent individuals, including not speaking for fear of appearing awkward, practising conversations and phone calls, mimicking othersβ gestures and tones of voice, suppressing stims and feelings of overstimulation, forcing eye contact, rehearsing social scripts, and sacrificing personal needs for the comfort of others. The design features layered side-profile silhouettes.
As SEND reform evolves, thereβs a real risk that children who mask will be overlooked, despite carrying significant hidden anxiety & exhaustion. We believe true inclusion starts with emotional safety, so young people can unmask, belong, and be valued for who they are, not just how well they cope.

Shoutout to @sarahspain.com for the idea β I also had to jump on the train, because this trend is awesome.
Thinking of younger variations of myself, always, and giving her the kindness I wish Iβd gotten at that time.
Or when he came up with the bullshit ββmale brainβ theory, which played a huge role in the underdiagnosis or misdiagnosis of autistic girls and women throughout the 2000s and 2010s.
How he continues to be given a platform on autism is beyond me.
Me, a North Carolinian, seeing the entire TL praise Thom Tillis:
Alex.
Adding on to this β the Elliotte Friedman stuff will (rightfully) get most of the attention, because his comments were disgusting AND he refused to speak about it.
This is excellent journalism. I hope this leads to changes in the industry.
Shireen did a phenomenal job on this piece. This issue isnβt limited to just Canada β itβs also an American hockey problem, and yes, even your βfavorite fun progressive hockey news sitesβ are a problem too.

Good morning, lovely people!
Itβs been a stressful 24 hours, but have no fear β your MontrΓ©al Victoire play this evening in Toronto at 7pm EST.
(It is, unfortunately, the only time they play this week.)
This is truly the crux of it. Itβs not about shielding kids or promoting βtraditional valuesβ β itβs about straight up removing options, and the ability to imagine, from their worldview
For context, the CBSC has received so many complaints about Friedmanβs comments that they put out a statement asking people to stop filing complaints.

A PSA: Please stop taking my tweets/ideas and passing them off as your own. Repeatedly.
Thatβs called βplagiarismβ, and most writers know to avoid doing so, because itβs immoral and so disrespectful to the person youβre ripping off.
I canβt believe Iβm having to post this, but here we are.
