The prompt wasn't actually a prompt, but something he had been planning to say all along. It was vulgar and not the kind of thing you say to strangers you just met.
Throughout he belittled various writing styles. He talked of subverting other people's work, people who were present. Bragged about the 'no pile'.
He had the opportunity to pick the last prompt. This is where he crossed the line. 4/
It was obvious that our writing interests did not align and that our group organiser was on holiday.
We shared our work after the first exercise. His work was borderline unsuitable for its subject. He shouted it in an aggressive and intimidating manner. 3/
He intentionally disrupted the meeting. It started relatively normal with a sales pitch that just wasn't right for us since we are a SFW group. His services and writing interests were in a NSFW adult category.
But things started to escalate after our introductions. 2/
If you are part of a public writers group or want to run one, make sure the rules are communicated and have a plan to remove people.
Our SFW lgbt+ group just had a safeguarding incident. The most recent meeting was derailed by a 'touring' pro editor/writer, who turned up uninvited. 1/
The urge to buy a vintage typewriter is very strong today
You should not have to pay a fee to enter any type of art competition when the prize is 'exposure'.

Legend of Zelda fan art. BOTW link and Zelda and dancing in front of a mirror whose reflection shows multiple iterations of other Zeldaβs and links dancing together in the background.

You are allowed to be proud of your creative work and feel good about it. You donβt need to cringe or apologise for making art. This is true regardless of skill level and especially true if you want to make better art next time.
Years ago I lived in China briefly, the government blocks access to sites like Google for authoritarian control. This is not about child protection. Forcing adults to handover ID cards to look at memes on the internet is about control. This is censorship.

Steam and itch.io have removed thousands of video games in recent weeks deemed to be "adult content" in order to comply with strict rules from payment processors like Mastercard.
These policies censor artists engaged in lawful speech. Mastercard shouldn't be the gatekeepers of our digital freedom.
I'm annoyed about needing to verify my adulthood everywhere online. It's an invasive law written by incompetents who don't understand how the internet works. Kids will get round it. I used to play internet games on czech websites at school when they banned games.
This is bullshit.

I just finished reading the catcher in the rye for the first time. I'm not American, so I knew nothing about it. I always imagined it was about a baseball player who lost the baseball in a field of rye.
happy pride month. thatβs right. july is pride month too. in fact itβs pride year, bitches. the pride will continue until rights improve.
I'm going to be that British guy: 29Β°C is too hot. I want it to be -2Β°C so I can walk outside with shorts on and make people feel cold on my behalf.
I just finished reading the most devastating gay romance novel. 'When you call my name', by Tucker Shaw. It was so good, I am mourning Callum, I have cried.
When the power goes out this guy will have nothing.
"I asked chatgpt" okay well I asked the cool bookseller at my local indie bookstore and they said read more gay books so
Thank you!
The world is falling apart so I may as well get into TCGs
June is Pride Month. Let's call out companies who show support for LGBTQ+ people while also advertising on GB News, a channel that pumps out LGBTQ+ hate. Tell these companies to pick a side - hate or Pride:

Admittedly, there are also 769.99 reasons why I did not get the pencil and the sharpener
I have ordered even more notebooks for the additional wips I have added to my workload. I deserve it for not buying anything from the designer stationary section like Β£269.99 pencil sharpener or an Β£500+ mechanical pencil...
This time last year I was being bullied by another player via their d&d character. Today I wrote out the timeline and included all the red flags. I had 5k words. I think this will be my next project.
I should probably stay focused on writing my 17,000 word gay romantasy novel first draft, but I can't help but start something new.
