literal month long addiction homing right into my fucking face LMFAO
I got to the stealth chapter and was like "I'll do this later" and dropped it ๐ญ I need to go back to it!!!
I have three big gaming goals for 2026:
1) Revisit games I adored, but dropped (ex. Metaphor, Ghost Trick, 13 Sentinels)
2) Dive deeper into Metroidvanias (ex. 2d Metroid, Blasphemous, Nine Sols)
3) Chip away at my backlog
I wonder how much new Fire Emblem will ruin these LMFAO
I don't see myself finishing any more games, so this is the list of games I finished in 2025! Ordered by enjoyment.
I made my goal of hitting 25 games this year! I thank my ability to drop FFXIV!!!!!!!!!
Screenshot from discord's yearly recap stating I sent 42069 messages this year

New Fire Emblem looks basically perfect :D :D :D :D :D
New Pokemon megas locked behind pvp with staggered release and paid dlc announced before the game dropped :D :D :D :D :D
Finished Ender Magnolia right before Silksong, which brings me up to 20 games finished this year! Games ordered by enjoyment.
Basically every game up to Milk I got a lot of enjoyment from. SotN through Ori are mixed, and the last two I didn't enjoy too much.

THATS SO CUTE?????????????

you can pet the fucking dog in Ender Magnolia!
Started Ender Magnolia
10/10 best metroidvania and videogame of all time
Ultimately, I'd give it like a 7.5 out of 10 in terms of enjoyment? Definitely gave me the "I never want to put it down" feeling I've started to love metroidvanias for, but it didn't hit me as hard as games like Hollow Knight or Ender Lilies. The music was 10/10 btw
you to use anything else feels pretty bad. On top of that, the final boss is simply horrible. It mostly feels easier than 75% of the game while having mechanics that force you to retry regardless. Genuinely one of the least enjoyable bosses I've fought.
The pacman movement is mostly a personal gripe because I don't like the auto movement, which makes neutral jumps very unfun to do despite how important they are. Certain bosses just genuinely feel poorly designed. A lot of the specials aside from the sword feel very stiff, so any boss that expects-
The movement was easily the best part of the game. Double jump + grapple hook (with the extension perk) was perfect.
My biggest negatives with the game were movement in the pacman segments, inconsistencies with contact damage/hitboxes, and certain bosses (ESPECIALLY the final boss).
Sorry in advance for the long thread lmfao.
I finished shadow labyrinth a few days ago. Kinda mixed on it? I loved the metroidvania experience as a whole. Their boss design philosophy of "make the bosses easy to learn but have a ton of health so you have to perfect them" was actually pretty fun.
I've talked about hating two Shadow Labyrinth bosses in particular..
The game heard me complaining because it has forced me to fight one of those bosses 4 times (two of those times less than 5 minutes apart from one another). The other one I've fought 3 times. ๐
Yeah, I HAD to preorder that shit. It looks so good. Excited to see your thoughts on it if you stream it :D
im so excited ๐ญ
It never left โค๏ธ
i just got done watching the vod of you playing it, and I'm honestly a lot more excited for it now LMAO. I was gonna get it regardless because metroidvania + premise sounded funny, but it genuinely looks good! The platforming and parry especially look fun
I finished Last Defense Academy a few days ago. I think there are some banger routes, but over half of them were just not enjoyable. It kinda feels like having so many different routes and writers drags the game down a bit. Don't really know how I'd rate it at this point.
top parsing ass haver is a sentence LMFAOOO
I'm having a blast with Last Defense Academy, but I DO feel like the hundred important endings thing was misleading. I've gotten like 9 endings, and every one of them has been "you chose wrong" bad endings that happen almost immediately after a choice.
