Perhaps you can see the Beggβn Strip she was given. She only eats treats on the back deck so she now needs to carry it a mile, a mile of no sniffing, no meeting my eyes in case I take it. Fast walk today!
For several weeks, Grace has taken over the dog bed. Dory has come in, looked at me reproachfully, left the room. This morning, she settled on the bed. And although Grace gave her the LOOK, they both settled into a nap.
Good to hear from you. I agree with your feelings about social media owners but as I have friends on each, I find myself unable to totally migrate away. I am glad you are doing well. Iβve cardiac issues which keeps me from my early walks but I persevere!
Abandoned the first frosty night, this nest which appeared almost overnight is rapidly degrading. The unfolding layers fascinate.

Beautiful, David. Iβve been teaching my grandson this name of the flowers that I have grown from seeds of my grandfatherβs plants. They are so simple compared to the recent cultivars. Enjoying your posts as I try to catch up. Having cardiac issues so unable to take Dory on sunrise hikes.
Gentrification. My historical city, on the river, on the Atlantic, is desirable, attracting many with more money than taste. Walking Dory, I see houses transformed with huge additions or torn down and replaced. No more starter homes or homes for working families. Makes me sad. Hope you are well! π

Never did I think I would be discussing differences, similarities among concubines, mistresses, ladies of the night at our senior center book group, but such are the books weβre reading! 8 of us, spirited discussion, and an interesting read. Consensus 4/5.

Looking across the street this morning.
I fell into a Nancy Pearl hole compliments of the Captive Reader and discovered this. If you grew up reading beneath the covers by flashlight, addicted to books by the Stratemeyer syndicate, this parody is for you, the aging characters, simple sentences, exuberant adjectives. 3.5/5
βMan is a creature who lives not upon bread alone, but primarily by catchwords.β Robert Louis Stevenson. Finally warm enough to walk to the river without fearing frostbite for Dory. Good to stand quiet with nature to combat the political noise.
βWe must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.β Martin Luther King, Jr. Simply canβt take the Mississippi out of the dog! She wouldnβt turn right to the river but rather pulled left around the block to home. Caught a little sunrise.
