And enjoy India π
@trainmodder
40 years working on the railway and a lifetime travelling overland. Recently completed a no-fly challenge of travelling from my home in Belper, United Kingdom to Bali, Indonesia. Check it out at www.polarsteps.com/ShaunTreece/7559902-belper-to-bali
And enjoy India π
Happy travels.
Merry Christmas to you and thanks for all the content in 2025. If my bust eardrum recovers in time we'll be orangutan chasing in January, but in Sumatra.
Are you UK locked until 2026?
Should've given us a wave as you whooshed through Belper. We have two (count both of them) mainline services from Sheffield which stop in Belper π
Winter in SEA? You're nothing if not predictable. We've got a few weeks; Singapore, Malaysia, Sumatra and Bangkok. Who needs dry January in the UK.
1. Great Wall
1. Great Wall, it was that good
2. Taj
3. Coliseum
4. Chichen.
Great write ups and really useful info for future trips. See you in SEA during the winter π€
I don't mind being the person to try it as a tester for everyone else. We ought to come up with a word for that π€
One day we're being told of the renaissance in sleeper trains all across Europe. The next we hear news of another being removed π€
Hi praise indeed.
And no pool....
Love it. Did twice the other week. Feldkirch to to Zell am See, and two days later to Graz. Panorama car
One of the best. Two years ago we did this and we had so many roommates we lost count! We did it in two halves and then again in one go. One 20 hour trip was 10 hours late and Mrs T described it as 50% extra free! I'd go back in a heartbeat. Vietnam is an amazing country.
Loving the South American reports. Maybe 2028 π€ September seems like a good time to visit.
Finished a 2 week trip over land & sea from Belper to the Balkans. Zurich to Graz Transalpin Panoramic, Graz to Split night train & Bar to Belgrade. And we did some non train stuff too! Thanks for the advice especially @seatsixtyone.bsky.social Blog @ Polarsteps www.polarsteps.com/ShaunTreece?...
Hmmm. Mildly annoying, we're planning that route on Friday 26/09 when the day train has ceased for the winter. The best option appears to be a daytime train to from Bar to Bijelo and then pick up the sleeper late evening. Unless anyone knows better?
You spend that much time in pools you must be nearing amphibiousisam. I know that's not a word, but we know what I mean πΈ π€·π»
We've made it as far as France. If you want to see where we go follow us on our trip βBelper to Belgradeβ at www.polarsteps.com/ShaunTreece/...
All journeys start here #BelpertoBelgrade
Yummy
Adds to "must do" list π€·π»
Hmmm. Cheesecake.
No mention of the friendly cats at the border. Perhaps they weren't relocated from Kapikule π πΊπΊπΊ
Well, you still can't get in via their land border π ποΈ
Oh good π
It'll be interesting to see a comparison of Brasilian travel costs against Europe, Asia, Central America please. This is what us "mortals" base our travel choices on π ππ»

It's a tough gig, but somebody has to do it. Looking forward to the trip.
Brilliant info. There are a lot of travel bloggers out there but only one @seatsixtyone.bsky.social If you travel by train this man is the guru. Real information with facts rather than opinions. Thanks Mark.
