Thank you. She has squirrelled herself away in her safe space and is not coping well at the moment. I’m sure she’ll be fine though - our vets are fantastic.

Retrieved my cat from the vets after a little op and she is high on ketamine! Full TLC is available but for now she’s learning how her legs work in unison
Local(ish) lad done good...
I really hope they do! Along with watercolour paintings of them
That’s a fantastic idea! This would be perfect for someone with an interest or knowledge of Clare’s work
This is an amazing opportunity! If you’re successful then you’ll be part of the Cambridge-based cohort with me, so if you have any questions about how it works, please ask

🧵
A talented individual (WantedAlive) thought up these cartoons and employed Rick Menard to illustrate them.
Well done to them for this initiative. 👏👍

A Common Toad sits motionless in the grass, staring dead ahead with a grumpy, resigned expression. Its squat, unimpressed face perfectly captures the Monday mood...tired, unbothered, and just surviving.
The official face of Monday.

Mademoiselle Adelaide Basset, a carte visite photograph of a young woman, dressed rather daringly in shorts and a long-sleeved top, with stockings. This picture was probably taken in 1894 or 1895.
For International Women's Day, I want to talk about this woman.
Despite the name on the photo, this woman was born Ann Amelia Chaplin in 1863, in Bromley.
We had such a wonderful time at the museum yesterday. During our sessions, @clairehistory.bsky.social talked about the murder of a Whittlesey prostitute, @sophiemhistory.bsky.social talked about how women changed the physical landscape of modern Peterborough (1/2)
Advert Norfolk Chronicle 1841, building land south of cliffs called Guy's Cliff, map shows the before and after when new development is named Hunstanton St. Edmund's, later New Hunstanton.
What a fantastic day at Peterborough Museum for International Women’s Day! @historyhaze1.bsky.social did an amazing job organising the chaos and it was wonderful to meet up with the @pborowomenshist.bsky.social group for our storytelling session
Come and say hello if you’re in Peterborough tomorrow and buy a signed copy of my book!
This is tomorrow and our panel is at 2pm.
Our speakers will be @sophiemhistory.bsky.social, @clairehistory.bsky.social, @historyhaze1.bsky.social, @dot8.bsky.social and Dr Denise McHugh.

It’s about 1810. Harelbeke works incredibly well based on the other locations I’ve identified - thank you!
A photo of a cartoonish looking clock that is purple, on a dining table. In the background is a lime green chest and other colorful decor.
My husband @tealcartoons.bsky.social's caricatures will be featured in @jackdawgalleryart.bsky.social in Oundle, Northamptonshire. We popped in today and I couldn't resist this beautiful clock! Is there anything better than human-made art? Do give the gallery a follow - they're new here!
I had been reading it as a double b, so the l is food for thought. I’d also read it as a possible brok or broek, so it’s definitely something to search more
Anyone any idea what birthplace this is? Could be France. Could be anywhere in the world 🤷🏼♀️
Years ago I found a note in the parish register of Glenfield in Leicestershire which instantly became one of my favourite Civil War commentaries:
'Churchwardens, not any; because
distractions many; & distructions mightie'.
I've returned to that document, explored other pages nearby, and found...
Upgrade successful! Now to catch up with all the correspondence I have neglected and prepare for some fun
I've been unemployed for a few months. I now set myself pretend jobs to prevent the rot setting in. My son thinks this guy is funny, which is a good enough excuse to make something. Any requests?
Thank you! I definitely need to contact you regarding Caribbean PoWs. Are your DMs open or do you have a work email I can contact you on?
As a wheelchair user I have to book everything in advance including assistance at the station (and I have to be at the station 30 minutes before or I get shouted at). So this is another hit for a group already struggling to use the railways fairly. Have Labour forgotten who they are?!
What I currently think I’m going to look like during my upgrade conversation tomorrow! Hopefully after a bit of reading and the clearing of my brain fog I’ll look a little more confident

What an amazing evening! Listening to Holst’s Planets Suite played on the organ at Peterborough Cathedral whilst staring at the sun! If you get the chance to see the sun (Luke Jerram’s Helios) or listen to the organist at the cathedral, then I highly recommend it
They did the hand thing and the wet shirt thing 🙄 it’s been a really interesting lesson in how to turn a classic book with complex characters and plot into something dull and uninspiring. Probably not helped by the cast and crew all being from the same family 🤷🏼♀️ Not recommended viewing
It’s not a Christmas story! But Brandon is a professor and Mare is his student, which is seven shades of wrong. Lucy Steele has just appeared and is some sort of influencer 🙄 Eddie Ferrars has left to take an internship. Everything is very 2 dimensional. Austen would not be impressed
