anyways those are my rambly thoughts, I'll still play and stuff, but I guess I just kinda wish it FELT more like a Marathon game, if I had to sum up my feelings on it

idk, I gotta stop rambling at some point cuz I could kinda just keep going, but I just really wanna like the game, and I do, but like... its MARATHON, I don't really get a lot of that Marathon feeling actually playing it and like I said it leaves me just wishing it was very different

I know I'm rambling a bit but bungie's stuff's always been special for me, and as much as I hate to sound super negative, playing the game is fun, but I find myself with an overwhelming sense of "what should have been" or "what should be", if that makes sense, and I kinda hate that I feel that way

Marathon as a game is quite fun in the moment to moment, and though I would KILL for pve or low stakes pvp stuff, I am having a bit of fun with it. Hopefully in the future the game gets a bit more optimized and some new ways to play are introduced, cuz right now its kinda hard to really get invested

this extends to progression systems too. Trying to engage with objectives and progression just ends up feeling frustrating more often than not, and a lot of the time the reward for it is stuff that doesnt feel like it means much since a lot of it will just vanish if you slip up or have bad luck.

I think I figured out why this style of game doesnt vibe with me. You spend more time feeling bad than felling good, if that makes any sense, and the victories you DO have end up not feeling particularly impactful either, since all of your stuff's fate is up to things often out of your hands.
