Thank you. I cried for hours today. I've taken so many negative pregnancy tests that I refuse to do anymore. It's extremely triggering.

This is literal Nazi stuff. If you've ever listened to historians or Holocaust survivors, then you know that there is no response to this that could be considered too extreme or overreactive.
For almost 6 years I was a single mom with sole physical custody of 2 kids and held down 2 jobs. Then 1 kid went off to college, I picked up a book deal and a husband. Now my book is done and I am down to just 1 job. Having actual regular free time is a weird adjustment.
That is crazy! They don't even wait until last minute to announce closings up here in Nebraska! Stay safe!

It's been just over a week since I finished my book. I said no projects for a bit, since then I have:
- browsed manuscript collection finding aids,
- worked on a conference paper proposal,
- looked at a fellowship,
And started planning 2 research trips.
Cleaning out my childhood mementos boxes and found my old buddies. 80s kid starter pack right here.

Not a very productive day, but trying show myself some grace. Today is the 4th anniversary of my Dad's passing. I don't think there will ever be a time where Auguat 19th isn't horrible.
Oh and also began my new role as a board member with the Nebraska State Genealogy Society. I am the area representative for Area 12 which encompasses Douglas, Sarpy, Cass, and Otoe counties.
I'm teaching full time beginning in September and have a book due in November, but has that stopped me from coming up with ideas for two articles, a presentation, and new course? No. Am I going to be nice to myself and not try to do all of those things within the next six months? Also, no.
