I think, as described, Dennett's veers further towards self-prompt generation...?

120 characters? That's less than an old text message, a fledgeling Tweet.
It was wrong and harmful - and quite possibly unlawful - to cut already approved NEH grants because Donald Trump hates "DEI."
But the way DOGE went about doing it was even dumber than you probably imagined.
They fed abstracts into ChatGPT and demanded an answer in fewer than 120 characters.

If he's not doing anything useful at the moment, getting this properly sorted could be an ideal job (or hobby) for J R-M?
Someone's gotta do it.
Good exercise to see how joined-up UK govt records are on EU legislation

Or could it be a portable Large Language Model? They can be quite deadly too.
That makes the chart even better! Which are a bigger danger to humans? Tractors... cows... uh, endangered species?
Good point, here's US: defenders.org/sites/defaul... UK is 4 or 5 annually.
A reminder that humans in cars - notably omitted from this thanks to motonormativity - kill 1.2m people every year
But can't I be a contrarian and doubt myself?
It's funny that they're saying there's no Asians here, when for a long time all the trending words of a morning (GMT+8-10) were Japanese
This weekβs column - here we go again with another cost shock; as they become more common, given fractured geopolitics + climate crisis, weβre going to have to find new approaches besides whacking up interest rates:

At least they're not all as evil as Putin but some are not as far as they pretend to be, Trump of course in particular.
As an occasional visitor to Oxford, the cyclists can be quite annoying if you're not used to them. Although to be fair, where I live, pavement cyclists are on the rise, so I should really be getting more used to them swishing around me. Still, better than cars I suppose!
But it is! Next stop, everyone in Oxford will be forced to wear commie boiler suits and sing Party songs on these battery-operated buses, which will be the only way anyone can leave their so-called 15-minute zones. Anyone found not singing (on the surveillance CCTV) will be forcibly re-educated. π
Yes, I now buy my plastic bags in bulk online to avoid this. Works out at more per bag but... I have complete bag sovereignty.
Yes, if anything it's misunderstanding the way language works: the difference between ordinary language symbol use and symbolic logic. Words often invoke a range of meanings and we solve the puzzles in light of them. There's a mismatch between our and the puzzle-setters' expectations of each other.
Given all that leading info about her (must be kinda relevant), which do I think is more likely?
1) she's a bank teller (okaay... but, looking at the option below, seems we're less sure whether she's an active feminist or not);
2) she's a bank teller who is also an active feminist.
I'm going with 2!
That would also be a reasonable match. Both answers remain possible. It's not eXclusive OR!

The Tories seem to be turning into a shadow party - are they really still there?
