It was great to be back in Des Moines last night to speak with the Des Moines West Side and East Side Democrats!
I’m so saddened by the loss of the four soldiers killed in Kuwait, including fellow Iowan Declan Coady. My deepest sympathies to their families and loved ones, and my deepest gratitude for their service and sacrifice.

Great crowd down in Knoxville on Sunday for the Marion County Democrats soup luncheon! As I travel the state more and more in this campaign for Secretary of State, it’s nice to start seeing familiar faces from the last time I visited!
Iowans deserve a Secretary of State who is proactive and prepared, not one who creates chaos days before an election. I’m glad Paul Pate has agreed to a settlement, but we need a true leader in that office to ensure something like that doesn’t happen again.
I had a lot of fun at the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists Black History Month celebration Saturday night, at UAW local 450. It was an honor to meet with union members, and celebrate the workers who have helped build this state.
We don’t need DC politicians deciding how our elections are run. Iowans deserve a Secretary of State who stands up to these threats, and Paul Pate is refusing to do that.

It was so nice to be back home in Scott County and take part in the Caucus last night! This was true democracy in action, and it was great to get a chance to talk with so many friends and neighbors.

It was great to be in Johnson County last night to help kick off Sue Dvorsky’s campaign for County Supervisor! I’m honored to have Sue and Bob’s backing in my race for Secretary of State, and I’m thrilled to support Sue in her campaign.
So sad to see yet another killing in Minnesota. This is unacceptable.
In the aftermath of an event like this, the focus should be on accountability and protecting people’s rights.
Instead, the DOJ is trying to use this moment to pressure Minnesota for access to voter data. That’s wrong.
